Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Radext Software Inc. ("RadLinguist", "we", "us") and govern your use of the RadLinguist apps and web app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What RadLinguist is
RadLinguist is an AI language teacher: it translates, checks and polishes sentences, suggests natural alternatives, and teaches you a language through conversation, practice, and lessons. Your teacher is an artificial intelligence, and the Service says so — no person teaches or watches your lessons; someone on our team sees a reply only if you report it.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age your country sets for consenting to online services) to create an account. Speech analysis additionally requires being 16 or older.
- Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information, and use one account as one person.
- RadLinguist is not offered everywhere. You may not use it from a country or region where we do not offer it — including places under comprehensive sanctions and places where our AI provider’s service is not available — or if you are named on a government sanctions or restricted-party list. Where the Service is not offered, it tells you so instead of opening.
3. Acceptable use
Use the Service for learning languages. Do not:
- break the law, or use the Service to harm, harass, or deceive others;
- probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the Service, or try to access another person's account or data;
- attempt to extract our prompts, models, or another user's content, or use the Service to build a competing dataset;
- resell or provide the Service to others as your own offering.
4. Your content
What you write, say, and share in RadLinguist is yours. You give us the limited license we need to operate the Service: to store your content, process it (including through our AI provider) to produce your corrections, translations, lessons, and feedback, and to maintain the working notes that personalize your teacher. We do not use your content to train AI models, and the Privacy Policy describes the narrow, consent-only exception for de-identified quality evaluation. You can export or delete your content at any time.
The Service runs on OpenAI, our AI provider: the teacher, the tools and the level check work by sending what you write, say and show, with your learning details, to OpenAI, as the Privacy Policy describes. Using the Service requires that processing, and the app asks you to agree to it before you start. If you do not agree, or later withdraw, the Service cannot be used until you agree; you can still sign out, delete your account, download your data, and change your privacy choices. Withdrawing does not cancel a subscription, whether bought through the App Store, Google Play or the web — cancel it where you bought it (section 6).
You are responsible for what you submit: share only what you have the right to share.
5. AI output — what it is and is not
- The Service's responses are generated by AI. They can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation, despite our efforts.
- If a reply looks wrong, inappropriate, or harmful, press and hold the reply and choose Report (on the web, tap Report beside it). Our team reviews reports; the Privacy Policy says what a report contains.
- Level estimates are working estimates that keep adjusting as you learn. They are not certifications, test scores, or credentials, and must not be presented as such.
- The Service does not assess pronunciation or accent quality and makes no promise about learning outcomes.
- Nothing in the Service is professional advice — legal, medical, immigration, or otherwise. Translations you rely on for consequential matters should be checked by a qualified human.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Plans and prices
RadLinguist is sold as a monthly subscription. There are three plans. Each one includes the tools, the teacher's lessons, practice, and the level check; they differ in how many minutes of live voice conversation they include each month:
- Tools — US$9.99 a month, with 30 minutes of live voice a month.
- Classroom — US$19.99 a month, with 180 minutes of live voice a month.
- Classroom Plus — US$29.99 a month, with 300 minutes of live voice a month.
The US dollar prices are for reference. The price you pay is the one shown in the app, the App Store, Google Play, or the web checkout before you confirm the purchase — in your local currency, and it can differ by country and include tax. All plans are billed monthly.
Where you buy, and who processes the payment
You can subscribe in the iPhone app (through the App Store), in the Android app (through Google Play), or in the web app at www.radlinguist.app (through Stripe). The storefront you buy through processes the payment under its own terms; on the web, Stripe acts as the merchant of record and adds any applicable tax at checkout. A subscription unlocks your RadLinguist account on every platform — sign in with the same account on your other devices. If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, use Settings › Plan › Restore purchases. We never see or store your card number.
Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically each month, and you are charged for each new month when it starts, until you cancel. For App Store and Google Play subscriptions, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one.
The free week
The first plan you buy starts with 7 days free. A payment method is required up front. Unless you cancel before the free week ends — at least 24 hours before it ends on the App Store and Google Play — the subscription renews into the paid plan on day 8 and you are charged that plan's monthly price. The free week is offered once: on the App Store once per Apple ID and on Google Play once per Google account, across all three plans, and on the web once per account and once per card — a card that has already had a free week, or a prepaid card, is charged from the first day. Changing plans later never starts another free week.
Cancelling
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for (or the end of the free week). Cancel in the storefront you subscribed through:
- App Store — in RadLinguist, Settings › Plan › Manage subscription, or on your iPhone, Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
- Google Play — in RadLinguist, Settings › Plan › Manage subscription, or in the Play Store app, your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
- Web — at www.radlinguist.app, Settings › Plan › Manage subscription.
Deleting your RadLinguist account cancels a web subscription at once, with no further charge; the unused part of the current month is not refunded. It does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription: only the store can stop those, so cancel them there first, as above. If a web subscription is ever charged after you deleted your account, write to info@radext.com and we will stop it. The Support page has step-by-step instructions.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies; request them from the store. For a purchase made on the web, write to info@radext.com. When a purchase is refunded in full, the plan's access ends at once. Nothing in these terms takes away a right to cancel or to a refund that consumer law gives you.
7. Our property
The Service — its software, design, characters, curricula, and content we authored — belongs to Radext Software Inc. and its licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use it, not ownership of it.
8. Ending things
You can stop using RadLinguist and delete your account at any time in Settings › Account (or, on the screen that asks you to agree to sharing with OpenAI, Delete my account); deletion is permanent. It cancels a web subscription at once, but not an App Store or Google Play one — cancel that in the store first (section 6). The account deletion page explains what is deleted and what is kept. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, harm the Service or other users, or where the law requires it — with notice unless the situation makes that impossible. Sections that by their nature should survive (4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12) survive.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Radext Software Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and USD 50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing takes away consumer rights the law grants you regardless of contract.
11. Changes
We may update the Service and these terms. When a change to these terms is material, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before it applies; continuing to use the Service after that is acceptance. The current version always lives at this address.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and disputes belong to the courts of British Columbia — except that nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the place where you live, or of your right to bring claims there where the law gives you that right.
13. General
If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service. You may not assign them; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
